Rona, a 33-year-old dairy farmer, returns to her job at the kibbutz's dairy. But she is blocked by the management, who are trying to prevent her from returning. Rona sets out on Sisyphean manual labor as the excellent dairy farmer that she is, in an effort to restore her status and belonging to the kibbutz. But her body hurts and won't let up. The silent birth she went through bubbles up, until her breasts, which were filled with milk, despite having no one to nurse, drip next to the fresh calf pens. The realization of her loss drops the token for her, that the cows are grieving mothers, just like her.
